As we create great playgrounds for children to play on today, we never lose sight of the importance of preserving the precious resources they and future generations will need in the future.
BCI Burke is ISO 14001 certified and maintains high standards for recycled content. We also recycle the materials used in our manufacturing processes. For example, in 2009 we recycled approximately 19 tons of HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and 179 tons of metal. At our headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, we purchase enough energy from wind and other renewable resources to offset 12 percent of our electrical usage and have reduced our overall energy consumption by 16 percent through efficiency measures.
