BCI Burke is proud to support Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, native Dave Haase in his quest to compete in the 27th Annual Race Across America (RAAM).
RAAM is one of the most respected and longest running annual cycling endurance events holding legendary status around the world. According to RAAM website, it is one of the pinnacles of sporting accomplishment, globally seeen as the highest point of ultra-endurance sports competitions. Since 1982, RAAM has a rich and storied history standing as a monument to human endeavors.
Haase has competed in RAAM since 2004 as well as other ultra cycling events that he has shown impressive success in:
- RAAM 2004 - DNF at 2,540 Miles
- RAAM 2005 - 4th Place Overall - Top American
- RAAM 2006 - 4th Place Overall - Top American
- 24 Hours of Vail Lake - 1st Place Overall
- Race Across the Alps 2007 - 8th Place - Only American Finisher
- Furnance Creek 508 2007 - 4th Place Overall
"I became an avid cyclist after college. I got into mountain bike racing and found something that pushed and challenged me beyond limits I thought possible," says Haase. "Ultra cycling has inspired me even more. It is pure freedom. Racing is the fuel that gets the freedom train moving."
BCI Burke is an avid activist of healthy lifestyles for children and families and championing Haase's mission is just one example of the commitment.
