BCI Burke has created a new Grant Resource Center to help schools, park & recreation boards and other organizations identify and apply for grants for new playgrounds.
The company has partnered with The School Funding Center to provide expert grant writing services. The School Funding Center maintains a network of experienced grant writers who can create grant applications for an affordable fee.
“A lot of schools, park boards and other agencies have a vague understanding that there’s grant money available for playgrounds, but they just don’t have the resources to locate the grants and apply for them,” said BCI Burke Chief Executive Officer Tim Ahern.
“The writing of grant applications is highly specialized, so having an experienced professional available can sometimes dramatically improve the likelihood of obtaining the needed grant. Yet, many don’t even know where to start in locating and retaining a grant writer. We hope this will make it easier for organizations to get the playgrounds they need and their children deserve,” said Ahern.
The program includes federal, state and private foundation grants that are available to schools and non-profit organizations, including those with religious affiliations. The services are available to organizations in eight categories: after-school; at risk/character; community involvement/volunteerism; early childhood; general education; health/physical education; family service, and facilities/maintenance.
The Grant Resource Center will offer free grant searches. Grant writing will be available for modest fees beginning at $500. Information about the new service, as well as a list of fees for writing grants of various sizes, is available on the BCI Burke web site at www.bciburke.com/grants.
