BCI Burke is a strong supporter of the National Program for Playground Safety and has a long track record for leadership in building playgrounds that meet the most stringent safety standards. In fact, Burke provides a free NPPS Playground Supervision Safety Kit with each modular playground.

The NPPS’s S.A.F.E. program is an excellent starting point for ensuring playground safety:

S = Supervision. Teachers and playground supervisors can play a major role in preventing injuries, especially with proper training. The NPPS Playground Supervision Kit, which you will receive free with your modular Burke playground, will help you train your teachers and other playground supervisors to ensure safe play.

A = Age Appropriate Signs. It’s vital to ensure that children play on the equipment that is designed for their age group. BCI Burke offers attractive, economical signs that can remind children as well as parents and playground supervisors which structures are appropriate for different age groups.

F = Fall Surfacing. Every playground must be installed on an appropriate surface. We can provide several options, including Burke Turf™, which is a beautiful grass-like surface. We can also provide you with a free copy of the NPPS Fall Surfacing Guide to help with your surface selection.

E = Equipment Maintenance. All playground equipment needs to be properly inspected and maintained on a regular basis. Because of the high quality of Burke products, our products require less maintenance than those from most other manufacturers. In addition, each Burke modular play structure comes with a free Customized Maintenance kit that includes tools, touch-up paint and graffiti remover.
