mavs dedicate playgroundMavs Foundation to Dedicate Refurbished Playground
A very special thanks to Child’s Play, Inc. for generously supporting this project
DALLAS – Dallas Mavericks guard Rodrigue Beaubois will help dedicate the newly refurbished playground at Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas’ South Dallas campus at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21. Beaubois will be joined by representatives from the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Mavericks Foundation, Child’s Play, Inc. and Girls Inc.
“We appreciate the generosity of the Mavs Foundation and Child’s Play, Inc. for the gift of the refurbished playground,” said Lori Palmer, Chief Executive Officer of Girls Inc. “The playground will strengthen the emotional and physical development of the girls and young women we serve at the South Dallas campus.”
This is the seventh playground the Dallas Mavericks and Mavs Foundation have refurbished since 1999. The new playground equipment, worth an estimated $45,000, will provide more than 200 girls with a safe place to play. Outdoor play and exercise are essential components of Girls Inc.’s programs that encourage young women to discover their potential and grow in a sense of responsibility to self, family and community.
Work completed by Child’s Play, Inc. of Dallas includes the installation of a 3,000 square-foot playground system featuring a new BCI Burke play structure and refurbished swing set, new playground borders and wood fiber surfacing. The playground equipment integrates the Mavericks team colors of blue, silver and black. The cost of the project and incidentals were taken care of by Child’s Play, Inc. and the Mavs Foundation.
