DeBusk Park – City of Mesquite
The city of Mesquite in Texas is very serious about giving their tax payers the highest quality product and an affordable price, that can be easily maintained. To city officials, best value practice is critical to the success of the city. To that end, they have developed a “Best Value Purchasing Matrix” to decide which vendor to use and product to purchase. Total cost of ownership, product quality, maintenance cost, warranty, and service after the sale are all key points they look at when making the important decision of purchasing playground equipment. The DeBusk park project included an extensive demolition of the existing equipment, retaining wall, and concrete. Child’s Play Inc. worked with the park planner to design the best playground for their space and budget. A new playground, retaining wall, picnic area, grass, irrigation concrete slab, and rubber surfacing were installed, giving the city the best overall value on the project and the children and families of Mesquite a new playground that will last for generations to come.
