Causes That Move Us

Our mission is to bring Play That Moves You to communities around the world, and that includes our hometown of Fond du Lac, WI. We do this, in part, by supporting organizations that further play and development for all children. From Girls on the Run to Fond du Lac Soccer, keeping kids moving, developing and having fun is our primary goal!

Boys and Girls Club of Fond du Lac is dedicated to empowering youth to reach their full potential. They offer a variety of programs and activities that positively change the lives and futures of children 6-18. Burke is proud to partner with a group that encourages physical emotional and social growth in our community.

Supporting local youth in all aspects of development is part of our mission and Fondy Fire First Robotics, a First Robotics Competition Team, encourages students with an interest in Engineering and Business to get involved. Their mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Soccer is a great way to build cooperation, social and emotional skills while getting great physical exercise and working on agility and coordination! We support several soccer teams in the local Fond du Lac area to help keep kids moving and developing!

Fond du Lac Soccer Association is a non-profit youth organization governed by an elected Board of Directors. FDLSA offers soccer opportunities for the youth of our community creating an environment where the whole family can become involved. FDLSA currently has youth soccer programs for over 1,500 boys and girls ages 5 to 18 with approximately 110 recreation and 13 classic (traveling) league teams.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, psychological, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program. At each season's conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5K running event which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The result—making the seemingly impossible, possible, and teaching girls that they can.

Fond du Lac's largest free family festival includes all-day fun from live music on several stages, children's entertainment and activities, sports tournaments, concession sales, the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament, exhibits and much more! Burke sponsors the 2-mile and 5-mile runs to help keep the community active and moving before enjoying the rest of Walleye Weekend’s offerings!.

The YMCA is a cause driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. We believe a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.

We also believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. Because of the Y, more young people in neighborhoods around the nation are taking a greater interest in learning and making smarter life choices. At the Y, children and teens learn values and positive behaviors, and can explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
