Jewett Park

Deerfield, Illinois

At Jewett Park, the vision was clear — deliver an inspiring playspace that combines bold design with meaningful inclusion. The goal was to craft an environment that feels open and adventurous with vertical play elements that capture attention without sacrificing visibility.

This vision came to life using dynamic Rope Tunnels that invite exploration and movement. These structures not only provide a sense of height and adventure but also maintain an open concept that encourages shared adventures across age groups and abilities.

Intentional accessibility was a priority. Dual ramp access points were integrated into the design, allowing children using mobility devices to engage with the structure from both sides, creating equal play opportunities for all children.

Surrounding the central play area, a thoughtfully designed playspace for children ages 2–5 nurtures early exploration and imagination. Interactive musical elements within the space invite all visitors to join in playful expression, while a variety of spinning and swinging features offer movement for children of all ages and abilities.

Brought to life in partnership with Play Illinois and Upland Design, this space shows what’s possible when thoughtful design serves a greater purpose.
